The information below describes the criteria and process for nominating someone for this prestigious award. 

You can submit your nominee for the NAWLEE Executive Member award here.  Nominations are due by December 31, 2024.

The NAWLEE Executive Member Award is for professional staff who exemplify dedication and excellence in advancing the mission of women in law enforcement.

Eligibility:

Nominee must be an Executive Member of NAWLEE.

Below are areas in which the nominee may be reviewed and evaluated:

1) Visionary Leadership:

• Demonstrates exceptional leadership in driving organizational change.
• Actively identifies and acts on opportunities to support equality, diversity, and the advancement of women in law enforcement.
• Leads strategic initiatives that result in measurable outcomes for the recruitment, retention, or promotion of women in policing.
• Develops programs that promote trust and accountability for law enforcement.

2) Advocacy and Representation:

• Advocates for the advancement of women in law enforcement within their agency and in the broader community.
• Represents NAWLEE's mission and values through active participation in public forums, conferences, or collaborative efforts.

3) Organizational Impact:

• Implements policies or practices that significantly improve the professional environment for law enforcement.
• Achieves tangible, lasting improvements in departmental culture or performance related to diversity and inclusion.

4) Mentorship and Legacy:

• Provides ongoing mentorship to emerging leaders, fostering their professional growth and leadership capabilities.
• Leaves a legacy of impactful programs, policies, or initiatives that support law enforcement.

5) Excellence in Public Service:

• Exemplifies professionalism, integrity and dedication to public service.
• Models best practices in law enforcement, helping colleagues and advancing community relations.
