NAWLEE Associate Member Award


The information below describes the criteria and process for nominating someone for this prestigious award. 

You can submit your nominee for the NAWLEE Associate Member award here.  Nominations are due by December 31, 2024.

The NAWLEE Associate Member Award is for professional staff who exemplify dedication and excellence in advancing the mission of women in law enforcement.

Eligibility:

Nominee must be an Associate Member of NAWLEE.

Below are areas in which the nominee may be reviewed and evaluated:

1) Leadership Potential:

  • Shows leadership skills and/or a commitment to promoting gender diversity in law enforcement.
  • Creates programs or projects that support women in policing or enhances departmental operations.

2) Dedication to Mission:

  • Supports NAWLEE through participation in events, programs, or initiatives aimed at empowering women in law enforcement.
  • Collaborates with peers, superiors, and/or community to advance women or promote their agency.

3) Mentorship and Support:

  • Acts as a mentor or peer supporter to others, to foster professional growth and development.
  • Develops opportunities or provides resources for other's career development.

4) Community Engagement:

  • If their position allows, builds positive relationships with the community.
  • Engages in outreach programs aimed at inspiring the next generation of women in policing.

5) Professional Excellence:

  • Displays a high level of competence, work ethic, and integrity to their role.
  • Contributes to the success of departmental objectives through innovation and dedication.
