The threat environment around elections has markedly elevated over the past several years. While the country has seen periods of tense elections before in its history, recent decades had featured largely peaceful elections.

During these years, the role of law enforcement during elections was largely passive, requiring little pre-planning or focused coordination. Now however, states and localities all across the country witness an election season marked by increased threats, harassment, intimidation, disruption, confrontation, and attempted violence.

In this new environment, law enforcement has a challenging balancing act of a mission: to both seriously prepare to address potential violent or disruptive activity while also ensuring that the environment remains welcoming to all voters.

This webinar will provide law enforcement leaders with research and field-tested strategies for how to meet this moment, and deliver for their communities in the coming election season. Participants will leave with some great resources to help their agencies prepare for the election season ahead.
